Get ready—this is your final mission as a book lover in New Milford! The Friends of the New Milford Public Library have dropped a literary bombshell: their 2024 Summer Book Sale (July 11–13 at New Milford High School) is officially the last one for at least two years, thanks to the library’s upcoming construction.
That means no sales in 2025. No sales in 2026. Just a long, book-sale-free desert… until 2027.
So what’s your move?
- Thursday, July 11: Sneak in early (9–10 a.m.) for $5 during Early Bird Hour—or stroll in free from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, July 12: Browse to your heart’s content, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
- Saturday, July 13: HALF-OFF EVERYTHING from 10 a.m.–2 p.m.!
We’re talking thousands of gently used books—fiction, fantasy, cookbooks, kids’ classics, biographies, and more—all priced to disappear fast. And they will.
The Friends don’t mince words on their site:
“Due to the library construction, this will be our LAST book sale for at least 2 years! Think ahead and STOCK up!!”
So grab tote bags, rally your book club, and treat this like the literary emergency it is. Because after Saturday, July 13?
Silence.
Don’t miss your only shot—visit before it’s gone for good:
